Kreuzberg is an edgy district once part of the former West Berlin and nestled up against the Wall. It is home to an eclectic group of punks, squatters and other alternative lifestylers and it has a distinctive bohemian character. Its residents fought to keep McDonalds out, and even had the Green Party politician, Hans-Christian Strobele, who represents the district in the German parliament, supporting them. However, McDonalds is here to stay, I have to say careful attention was paid to fit the building into the area, but the food is still awful. |
