The Winged Victory of Samothrace is a 2nd century BC marble sculpture of the Greek goddess Nike. It has been in the Louvre since 1884 and I go see it every time I'm there. The picture above is a pastel I just completed from a photograph. I thought it an appropriate theme for all the winged creatures in this area.
