Kathe Kollwitz sculpture

Another sculpture by Kathe Kollwitz.  Her work is extremely powerful and moving. Photography at the museum today was not allowed, but I was particularly affected by a commemorating woodcut she dedicated to Karl Liebknecht, a revolutionary socialist, assassinated with Rosa Luxemberg in 1919.  After Hitler came to power, Kollwitz  was forced to resign as head of the Prussian Academy for the Graphic Arts.
