The Berlin Holocaust Memorial was designed by U.S. architect Peter Eiseman and has been quite controversial inviting both praise as well as criticism. It occupies 205,000 square feet of space near the Brandenburg Gate and is just a short distance from where the ruins of Hitler's bunker is buried. It is made up of 2,711 gray stone slabs that bear no markings. They range in size from ankle high to some which tower over visitors.
